Dolceacqua

Dolceacqua

Dolceacqua is a pearl of the Western Ligurian Riviera, about an hour's drive from Pietra Ligure; a typical medieval village dominated by the Doria Castle and is called Terra by the inhabitants. The town, about 1500 inhabitants, stands out for its history, art and culture.

“…the place is superb, there is a bridge that is a jewel of lightness…”, this is how Monet described Dolceacqua during his stay in 1884, after a first trip in the company of Renoir, who was so impressed that he painted it in his work “The Château de Dolceacqua”
