The medieval village of Toirano, in the first hinterland of Loano, is an Orange Flag, a tourist-environmental quality mark assigned by the Italian Touring Club to places that enjoy a valuable historical, cultural and environmental heritage and are able to offer tourists a warm welcome. quality.

Between houses and shops is the Palazzo del Carretto, which houses the Ethnographic Museum of History, Culture and Traditions of Val Varatella in the stables, which collects collections of various kinds relating to agricultural, artisanal and domestic activities practiced in ancient times.

A little over 1 km from the town are the Toirano caves, a complex of 150 caves open to the public which preserve prehistoric remains.

Every year during the Christmas period there is a suggestive non-competitive exhibition of the artistic nativity scene, with over 180 nativity scenes along the “caruggi” of the Borgo.
